Menu Board Compliance Review

Description

We'll review your menu board against legal standards for ingredient origin labeling, pricing, nutrition, and allergen information—identifying violations and preparing revision requests for your designer or printer. Whether you made it yourself, received it from a designer or print shop, or generated it with our menu creation agent, we review it all by the same standard.

When You Need This

  • Before posting a newly designed menu, you want to verify there are no legal issues.
  • You're revamping your existing menu and want to check if any labeling requirements are missing.
  • You've received a proof from a printer or designer but aren't sure what needs to be corrected.
  • You need to confirm that multiple channels—external price signage, kiosks, delivery apps—display information consistently.

What You Get

  • Compliance checklist by category — We assess ingredient origin, pricing, nutrition, and allergen labels as compliant, at-risk, needs clarification, or not applicable, citing relevant laws and regulations for each.
  • Clear list of what needs fixing — Location (which menu item, which field), before-and-after text, reason, and cost impact in table format—so you can fix it yourself or brief your vendor without confusion.
  • Revision request letter for vendors — If your menu came from outside, get a concise, accurate brief ready to send to your designer or printer.
  • Obligation check by business type and size — We first confirm which labeling duties apply to your restaurant type and location size (origin labeling, price board, nutrition, allergens), then distinguish what applies to you from what doesn't.
  • Prevent disputes before they start — Catch violations before you face enforcement action or consumer complaints.

How It Works

  1. Verify your business profile — We ask your business type (restaurant, café, bakery), location size (square meters), and franchise structure, then determine which labeling requirements apply.
  2. Collect materials — You provide menu board files (image or PDF), menu list (names, prices, origins), and ingredient information if needed.
  3. Check each category — Is the ingredient origin a required-label item? Is it formatted correctly? Is the price the final amount customers pay? For meat, is there a per-100g price? If nutrition or allergen labels are required for your business size, do you have them and are they accurate?
  4. Issue compliance report — We mark each item compliant, at-risk, needs clarification, or not applicable, with citations and specific fixes.
  5. Propose improvements — Priority list of top 3 violations, before-and-after comparison table, and a brief for your vendor.

Good to Know

  • We work only with what you provide — Menu names, prices, origins, and ingredients come only from your materials. If information is missing, we ask rather than guess.
  • We flag uncertainty — If a regulation is unclear or recent updates are unconfirmed, we mark it "needs verification" or "contact your local health department or the MFDS." We don't present uncertain information as fact.
  • We don't issue final enforcement judgment — This tool teaches you the current legal standard but doesn't predict whether your local health department will cite you. If you need certainty on enforcement risk, we'll direct you to the right authority.
  • For franchisees, we separate corporate policy from legal duty — Head office brand guidelines and legal compliance requirements may differ. We make that distinction clear.
  • We won't help with false claims or rights violations — We recommend correcting unsupported "best," "as seen on TV," plagiarized photos, unlicensed trademarks, or false origins. But we won't suggest ways to hide intentional violations.
  • We don't blame your designer or vendor — If an outside menu has errors, we flag what to fix without criticism.
  • We disclose costs upfront — If reprinting, paid font licenses, or paid image purchases are necessary, we'll tell you the cost and reason so you can decide.

User prompt

Example XAGT response

User prompt

Example XAGT response

User prompt
